Beautiful Textured Rings: Ōtaki Beach

Service Description

A special 3-hour class is held in our Ōtaki studio with jeweller Vaune Mason. Make your own personalised ring! Learn the basic technique first in copper or brass, and then craft your final piece in silver. This 3-hour class is ideal for beginners, groups of friends and visitors to the city. Learn to measure your finger, cut metal to length and texture it without rolling mill, hammers and punches. Then use a jewellers torch, sandpaper and polishing, and your beautiful new ring will be ready to wear. Included in the class fee are copper and brass for practising on, up to 6 grams of sterling silver and all consumables such as sandpaper, solder and chemicals. Extra metals are available for purchase in the studio. Kids aged 12 (or so) are welcome to attend the class, but any person under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled parent or caregiver.

Cancellation Policy

Below are the Terms & Conditions for our classes. For information on access and parking info for both studios, please visit the FAQ page on our main site. TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR WORKSPACE CLASSES: We require all class fees to be paid in full before the start date of the class and any extra materials taken to be paid for at the last class. Masks are no longer required in our workshops, but if students would like to wear one they are most welcome. If students are unwell or required to self isolate we will do our best to find another time for them to take the class. We will not offer refunds.  Workspace will not offer make up classes for any reason other than Covid related illness. Please take note of this, these are unprecedented times and we are doing all we can to keep things flowing smoothly but sometimes flexibility is required.  Students must follow all health and safety guidelines and all safety instructions from the tutors at all times.  Workspace is under no obligation to change students to other classes, credit or refund for classes booked. Workspace reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class if circumstances require it, students will be refunded if this is the case.  By enrolling in our classes you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
