Our Summer School 2024 was a spectacular success! So many amazing workshops and such vibrant people. And the work they made was just fantastic!
We look forward to sharing more images with you from our summer school over our socials, and we are busy planning our offerings for Summer 2025!

Paraparaumu / 18 Jan
10am - 4pm
There is so much inspiration for our creative work all around us, but how to begin? How often do you set yourself up to start making, ideas have been buzzing in your mind for weeks, you sit down ready to begin and … nothing. Your mind has gone blank.
This class is all about filling in that blank. Join mixed media artists Sarah Brock and Keri-mei Zagrobelna and give yourself a starting point to get creative.
It is a fun experimental class where we know where we are starting - by taking a walk along a stream - but we don’t know where we will finish, because that is up to you.

Ōtaki Beach / 21 Jan
10am - 1pm
This quick and fun workshop with jeweller Claire McSweeney will focus on crafting silver rings with natural textures. Using special jewellery techniques to press items such as feathers, dried grasses and leaves into the metal, you can create the most amazing impressions from these delicate materials, in lasting silver jewellery.

27 Jan, 2pm - 5pm
We are super excited to be able to bring our fantastic glass tutor up from Ōtautahi / Christchurch for this Summer School. Emily Napolitiano is a lampwork glass artist and her glass bead classes are some of our most popular! Great for total beginners or jewellery students who've always wanted to try their hand with glass.

Ōtaki Beach / 4 Feb
10am - 4.30pm
Don't miss this jewellery making experience with two creative power-houses: Vaune Mason and Jennie Denston of Heavy Metals Jewellery.
Learn to create your own, natural casting sand and make simple moulds. Create incredible earthy textures that can't be replicated any other way. Explore other exciting casting methods such as salt and water casting. Open to complete beginners and advanced makers who want to expand their technique library.

Pōneke / Wellington
20 Jan, 10am - 1pm
Designed for family groups of mixed ages and including kids!
Our super friendly tutors are here to guide you through a fun adventure of crafting fun and easy jewellery
using pre-cut shapes in silver, copper or brass. Simple textures and nifty finishing techniques mean
everyone is able to make something special.

Ōtaki Beach / 21 Jan
2pm - 5pm

10am - 4pm
Spend a luxurious day in our Ōtaki studio with Emily Napolitiano crafting glass beads and adding them to sterling silver to create vibrant wearable pieces. This workshop is not to be missed! Take advantage of working with Emily and our local tutor Vaune Mason in this full day-class. Students can focus on creating jewellery items or works that might be more sculptural or decorative.

Pōneke / Wellington
20 Jan, 2pm - 5pm
Use sterling silver and decorative elements like sea-glass, shells and wood we will guide you through making your own original piece of jewellery to wear and treasure.
This is an ideal class to take if you love dangly earrings and beachy themed pendants. All materials provided.

Learn to work safely with foraged natural materials to let their beauty shine. Combine with sterling silver, copper or brass to create fittings and elements that complete and elevate your work.
