Service Description

Spend four inspiring evenings immersed in the beautiful art of stained glass and leadlighting at our welcoming waterfront studio in Market Lane. Whether you are completely new to glasswork or already have some experience, this relaxed and supportive 4-week class is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, get creative, and make something truly special by hand. Guided by our experienced tutors, you will learn the traditional techniques used to create stunning leadlight and stained glass pieces, while developing the confidence to design and complete your own projects. Beginners will start with a simple and elegant clear glass project, learning each stage of the process step-by-step — from planning a design and safely cutting glass, to grinding, foiling, soldering, and finishing your piece. Once you have mastered the basics, you will have the freedom to move on to colourful sun-catchers, decorative panels, small hanging pieces, or more detailed designs depending on your interests and experience level. Students with prior experience are encouraged to work on more complex projects with guidance from the tutor. This is a warm, friendly, and highly supportive class where students can work at their own pace while enjoying the inspiring atmosphere of our creative studio community. It is the perfect Friday night creative escape — a chance to unwind, learn new skills, and create beautiful handmade glass pieces you will treasure for years to come. All tools and equipment are supplied, and you are very welcome to bring along your own glass or tools if you already have them. Glass, copper foil, solder, and other consumable materials are additional and can be purchased from the studio as needed for your projects. Beginners can expect to pay around $50 - $80 in materials depending on their projects.
