Service Description
This fun and creative three-hour taster class is a wonderful introduction to jewellery making. Whether you're looking for a memorable outing with friends, a thoughtful gift-making session, or simply a chance to try something new, this workshop offers a relaxed and rewarding creative experience. During the class you’ll learn how to create a beautiful pair of textured metal earrings or a pendant from scratch. With step-by-step guidance from our experienced tutors, you’ll explore traditional jewellery-making techniques including heating metal, creating texture, cutting, shaping, and finishing your design using professional studio tools. We begin by experimenting with a range of texture samples, allowing you to test different hammer patterns and surfaces. This helps you decide which textures and metal you’d like to use before moving on to your final design. You’ll then create your earrings in either warm copper, bronze or golden brass, metals that are perfect for beginners. These materials allow you to work freely and creatively - often making larger, bolder earrings without the higher cost of precious metals. For those who would prefer to work in precious metal, we also have a wide selection of sterling silver sheet and wire available for purchase on the day. Your materials pack includes everything you need to create a striking finished pair of earrings. Each pair is completed with high-quality earring hooks or hoops, available in: Sterling silver hooks Stainless steel hoops (plain or gold plated) We use professionally made findings in our taster classes so you can focus on crafting the decorative elements of your earrings, while knowing the final fittings are secure, comfortable, and beautifully finished. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a pair of unique handmade earrings or a pendant, perfect to wear proudly yourself or give as a special handmade gift. Young makers aged 12 and up are welcome to join the class. Anyone under the age of 16 must attend with an enrolled parent or caregiver.

Cancellation Policy
Below are the Terms & Conditions for our classes. For information on access and parking info for both studios, please visit the FAQ page on our main site. General Terms and Conditions for Classes with Workspace Studios Ltd. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their email address is correct, and they check their spam folders for confirmation and reminder emails. In the case of accidental incorrect bookings, we can shift students to the correct class if informed via email within 24 hours. For block classes aka regular classes, Workspace will not offer make up classes for any reason. Our tutors are very skilled at catching students up when they miss a class, and we can offer a free bench hire at the end of the block for students to finish their project*. In the case of cancellation - where you contact us via email more than 21 days before the start date of the class and let us know you need to cancel your booking, a refund of fees paid (or a credit to rebook) less the administration fee of $50 and any transaction fees (Credit card / Afterpay etc) will be made. For cancellations after the 21 day cut off date we will either: 1. Refund your class fee minus 50% and any transaction fees (Credit card / Afterpay / Paypal etc) , OR 2. Issue a credit to rebook minus 40%. Credits cannot be exchanged for cash and have a 6 month expiration after which they will not be honoured. Students are welcome to find a friend to take their place in a one off class (not a block class) if they cannot attend. Students must follow all health and safety guidelines and all safety instructions from the tutors at all times. We require all class fees to be paid in full before the start date of the class and any extra materials taken to be paid for at the last class. In case of insufficient bookings, or other events* Workspace Studios retains the right to cancel the class, and your class fees would be refunded to you in full. Our minimum number of bookings to ensure the class proceeds is 3. *Other events: extreme weather events, natural disasters, pandemic etc where studio locations are not safe to travel to for the time of the scheduled class. *Ts & Cs apply - not all projects are suitable for a bench hire.
