Service Description
Over three sessions, create your own unique ring using the age-old lost wax technique. This is a great opportunity to spend a Friday night getting creative and making something you can wear! In weeks one and two, you will learn how to work with jeweller’s hard wax to design and shape your own ring. Experiment with texture, form and detail to create a one-of-a-kind piece. Your finished wax ring will then be sent away for casting in the metal of your choice. There will be a week’s break before the third session to allow time for everyone’s waxes to be cast. In the final session, you’ll learn how to trim, clean and finish your cast, transforming your wax design into an original ring ready to wear. More advanced students can use the sessions to develop their own ring designs in a supportive class setting. Included in the class fee are all your different types of waxes, sandpaper and courier costs. Casting and metal costs are not included and will vary depending on the size of your ring and the metal you choose. Small castings can cost around $6.65–$12, with metal costing approximately $7–$30 depending on whether you choose red bronze, white bronze or silver. This class is suitable for teens and children aged 12 and over. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled parent or caregiver.

Below are the Terms & Conditions for our classes. For information on access and parking info for both studios, please visit the FAQ page on our main site. TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR WORKSPACE CLASSES: We require all class fees to be paid in full before the start date of the class and any extra materials taken to be paid for at the last class. Masks are no longer required in our workshops, but if students would like to wear one they are most welcome. If students are unwell or required to self isolate we will do our best to find another time for them to take the class. We will not offer refunds. Workspace will not offer make up classes for any reason other than Covid related illness. Please take note of this, these are unprecedented times and we are doing all we can to keep things flowing smoothly but sometimes flexibility is required. Students must follow all health and safety guidelines and all safety instructions from the tutors at all times. Workspace is under no obligation to change students to other classes, credit or refund for classes booked. Workspace reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class if circumstances require it, students will be refunded if this is the case. By enrolling in our classes or booking a service you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
