Assisted Bench Hire Wellington

Service Description

If you are not an experienced student, or when you require assistance or supervision (for example for melting down your clean silver or gold scrap) you will need to book an Assisted Hire - $55 for the 3 hour session. Please remember that while your session is able to last longer than 3 hours, you need to negotiate with your technician when you will require help, as your tech is only available over a 3 hour period. These sessions are for those who are moving towards being able to work independently, or if you have just a little tricky bit you need help with. Assisted bench hire is the best of both worlds. Mostly unsupervised, but with the ability to ask the occasional question or have help with things like firing enamels, stone setting or soldering. Please note: this is NOT a session to do something you have never done before. It is not a class. If you need more one-on-one help, we ask you book a private tuition session. If you want to book to do a melt you must have done a Torch Safety session with one of our tutors to go over how to use the Smith-Torch. This session usually takes 1.5 hours of one-on-one and is essential for health and safety. Once you have taken this session, you can then book an assisted hire for when you do your melts in the future.

Cancellation Policy

Below are the Terms & Conditions for our classes. For information on access and parking info for both studios, please visit the FAQ page on our main site. TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR WORKSPACE CLASSES: We require all class fees to be paid in full before the start date of the class and any extra materials taken to be paid for at the last class. Masks are no longer required in our workshops, but if students would like to wear one they are most welcome. If students are unwell or required to self isolate we will do our best to find another time for them to take the class. We will not offer refunds.  Workspace will not offer make up classes for any reason other than Covid related illness. Please take note of this, these are unprecedented times and we are doing all we can to keep things flowing smoothly but sometimes flexibility is required.  Students must follow all health and safety guidelines and all safety instructions from the tutors at all times.  Workspace is under no obligation to change students to other classes, credit or refund for classes booked. Workspace reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class if circumstances require it, students will be refunded if this is the case.  By enrolling in our classes you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
